About Us

The Texas Bitcoin Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to research and education about Bitcoin and related historical and scientific issues. We do the theoretical work that informs the direction we take as a state and as a country.

Vision

We envision Bitcoin as a durable infrastructure of value that underpins prosperity and cooperation for the people of Texas, the United States, and the world.

The Texas Bitcoin Foundation ensures that the value of Bitcoin’s protocol revolution and its impact on human societies is fully developed and rigorously theorized.

We lay down the intellectual scaffolding that social scientists, engineers, and practitioners may draw upon and dialogue with as they build the social and technical infrastructures of the twenty-first century.

Mission

The Texas Bitcoin Foundation funds and disseminates interdisciplinary research and education about Bitcoin and related scientific, economic, and historical issues.

We ensure that Bitcoin ecosystem development progresses unimpeded by championing a Texas talent pipeline and directly sponsoring contributors.

Finally, the Foundation provides access to Bitcoin-related resources and subject-matter experts that can be drawn upon by academic and research institutions, public and private organizations, and the broader public.
