About the Scholarship
The Texas Bitcoin Foundation is sponsoring up to five scholarship winners to attend Empower 2023, the only bitcoin mining event with a focus on energy.
Hosted by the Digital Wildcatters, Empower brings together energy, mining, finance, and other professionals in the city that powers the world: Houston, Texas!
Empower 2023 runs from March 7-9, 2023.
Generously funded by Gideon and Felicia Powell, the scholarships will cover travel and tickets to Empower 2023 for up to five energy entrepreneurs or students passionate about using bitcoin mining and other innovative bottom up solutions that increase reliable and affordable energy for Texans and the people of the world.
The scholarship application deadline is Tuesday, January 31st, 2023 at 11:59pm U.S. Central Time.
Winners will be notified no later than Friday, February 10th, 2023.
International scholarship recipients will be expected to arrange a valid visa to the United States prior to travel. As Empower 2023 is an English-language event, all applications must be submitted in English.
APPLICANT CRITERIA

Entrepreneur working in the energy industry OR individual studying topics related to the energy industry at an institute for higher education.

Interested in bitcoin mining and/or see the value bitcoin provides for the underserved.

Has a passion for elevating human prosperity through energy advancement.

Humble and curious.

We strongly encourage applications from people from outside the United States currently residing in the U.S. as well as from first-generation immigrants to the United States.

Entrepreneurs from outside the United States may also apply, but English language proficiency is required.
